Make up I got for my birthday - eyeshadow palettes (part 2)

5:41:00 PM

Hey guys!

A big change is coming. I decided I no longer want to write in English, at least not JUST in English. I've been thinking about it for a while. I know not many people are reading this at all, and if you are, you're probably someone I know. I've also received some feedback and I know there are people who want me to write in Polish - which is my first language. So I decided that after this blog post, I'll try writing in Polish and we'll see how it will go. If I'll like it and, most importantly, if you'll like it. I'm also going to add a feature to my layout, that will allow you to translate everything from Polish to English. If there's anyone reading this - please let me know what you think!

Now let's get to what this blog post is really about - my new eyeshadow palettes :). I've got two new palettes for my birthday - one from my best friend Ema, and the other one from myself (there was a sale, of course).

This one I got from my friend. She knew I've been eyeing it for a while now, I guess :). I've really wanted to try out Zoeva eyeshadows, and I'm not disappointed. Both mattes and shimmers have amazing pigmentation, blend easily and are a pleasure to work with. Also, the shades are just so beautiful! I love every single one of them and even though the orange one is what caught my eye at first, I really can't choose which one is my favourite now that I've tried them all! I'm absolutely obsessed with this palette and can't thank you enough, Ema!

It contain six mattes, three shimmers and one eyeshadow with specs of glitter. All of the matte browns are very warm and will go well with the orange shimmers. It also contains a light gold shade that will enhance my blue eyes beautifully, and a puple-y chocolate shade that I'm surprised to love just as much as all of the other ones, as I usually don't like these kinds of shades. It also contains a white and a transition shade. I would add a shimmery highlight shade and it would be a perfect warm palette, but it's not like I don't have any of those!

The palette I bought for myself is very expensive, so I wouldn't expect anyone to give it to me as a gift. Also, it was on sale (for a day), and I just had to. Just like the Zoeva one, this baby didn't disappoint me as well. All of the shades are stunning, it contains so many mattes and they blend like a dream. I love Henna and Sandalwood for everyday - I could just have it as a duo and be perfectly happy. I'm also amazed by the metallic shades. I've only used Angelic and 24k on my eyes so far, but I can already say - they look beautiful! The foiled shadows seem to be a little hard to work with, but they are definitely worth it!

I saw that she came out with a new palette just now, and I already want to get my hands on it :). Obviously, I won't buy it (not yet), as I have so many new eyeshadows to play with and unfortunately I'm on a no-buy till December 6th!

If you want a more in depth review on any of these palettes, let me know!

That is all I have for today. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Please comment your opinion on me switching to writing in Polish! Also, have you tried any on these palettes? What do you think? What do you want me to write about next? Let me know!

Sending my love,

Make up I got for my birthday (part 1)

11:52:00 AM

Hey guys!

Lately, on July the 16th to be specific, I've become 23. For that reason, I've decided to treat myself with lots of make up - high end make up. Today I'm going to be showing you part 1 of what I've bought/got for my birthday. Keep reading if you're interested!

I have to admit, it got a little out of hand. Of course, I was intending to buy myself something nice, but I didn't think I would buy so much :D But I have to say, I'm happy with everything I've tried so far. Today I'm going to be talking about two mini kits from Sephora (if you know me, you know I LOVE buying these mini kits to test out expensive make up) and some goodies I got from Mac. I'll show you first impressions and swatches of the eyeshadow palettes in a different blog post. So let's get started!

When I saw the Becca Glow On The Go set, I immediately got very excited and new I'm going to be buying it as soon as I have the money. It was 75 zł ($20) and contains a mini pressed highlighter in Opal, as well as a Spotlights highlighter in the same shade. I have to admit, I thought it was a mini Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid, so I was a little bit disappointed, but oh well. I bet it's still good. I haven't tested it out yet, but the pressed version is beautiful. And not too dark for me at all, as I was afraid it would be!

I've also bought a Try It Kit from Smashbox. I remember it being sold for Christmas last year and now it was on sale for only 45 zł ($12)! It was basically a steal, so of course I grabbed it. I'll get to test out a full size Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Raven and a bunch of minis: Full Exposure mascara in Jet Black (I've tried it already and it worked fine, even though I'm not a big fan), Photo Finish foundation primer (I've tried it too and it's nice, even though, again, I'm not crazy about it), Be Legendary lip gloss in Disco Rose (this one I'm excited about, I love lip glosses for summer and this one is so tiny and cute!) and Photo Op eyeshadow trio in Filter (I'm super excited about these, as my friend has it and loves these eyeshadows. Also, they are matte neutrals, what's more to ask for?).

I haven't tried any of these yet other than on my hand, but the shadows seem to be very buttery and smooth, the liner is very opaque and the lip gloss has a pretty summer strawberry shade! What is more, the packaging on everything is very beautiful and sleek, even though these are just minis. I love that!

The last product I bought at Sephora is this Cream Lip Stain in 10 Mandarin Muse. I love these liquid lipsticks (I now own 4 of them) and this one was on a huge sale - I cost me 11,50 zł ($3,14). I've been thinking about buying a red liquid lipstick for a while now, and this was a perfect opportunity. I've worn it once and the formula is great, just like in the other 3 I've tried, and the color is just stunning! It's a bright red orange, a very summer shade in my opinion!

I've shown you on my Instagram already, but I've also hauled some Mac products lately. There was a 20% off sale in Douglas in Vilnius and I've never seen a Mac sale before, so I was immediately dragged in. I decided to go with cult favourite products - Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle and a matte lipstick in Velvet Teddy. I have to say, both were amazing choices! Velvet Teddy is my perfect everyday nude, it's also very comfortable on the lips. And Soft & Gentle is probably my most beautiful highlighter at the moment! It's in the most perfect shade and it can be both soft and gentle (as the name suggests) or very intense, when the light hits you in the right way.

I've also got a tester of the Tan pigment, that is also famous for being amazing. I haven't tried it on my eyes yet, but it looks very beautiful swatched!

That is all I have for today. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for part 2!
