Disappointing products #1: Essence eyeliner, Rimmel lip balm

1:31:00 PM

Today's blog post is going to be all about disappointing products. And by disappointing I don't necessarily mean that I hate them, they just didn't live up to my standards or expectations ;). As always, I of course am going to find a way to use them and like them - or at least try. Also, please don't get offended if you like any of these products - for each their own, right?

Essence Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

The first product I want to talk about is this eyeliner. I bought it because of Tati (glamlifeguru), because she said it was her favourite drugstore eyeliner. I was looking for a good one at that time and didn't really know what I liked yet, so I decided to pick it up. Yes, I liked it at first. I can say it is really comfortable to use, the tip is really nice, perfectly thin and long. What I don't like about it is the pigmentation...

Here you can see it compared with my Celebrities Eyeliner by Eveline (in brown), which I really love and use it everyday - totally recommend. Anyways, back to the Essence liner. The pigmentation is nice IF you press hard enough - then some product comes out and it's pigmented again. The thing is, I don't want to be pressing that hard on my eye. And I don't like having grey liner - I prefer a dark, crisp line.

It is possible that maybe I just got a bad one, or that I don't know how to use it to like it. But what I decided is I just don't like markery liners. They dry out super fast, drag on the line and remove it and are not pigmented enough. I know not all of them do, of course, but that's just my impression of the ones I've tried. I have always loved the liners that dip into the product inside of the bottle/tube/(I have no idea how you call that) and decided I will just stick to those :).

Price: about 12 zł ($3,03)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm

Next is this Intense Colour Balm by Rimmel. I have it in the shade 710 Drive me nude. The reason I bought it is the colour. I was on a nude lip kick at the time and really wanted to buy something pretty, that would moisturize my lips and last me a long time (and this one claims to do all that). I do love the vanilla smell and the finish it gives on the lips (which is shiny, like after applying regular lip balm), but... It stains my lips bright pink!

As you can see on my hand - the stain is a totally different colour than the lipstick. And because of that, after wearing it for some time (like 20-30 minutes), the colour changes and it's no longer nude - it's pink. I mean, I love pink, but if I wanted pink stain, I would buy pink lipstick! Obviously I still wear it sometimes, but not as often as I would if it was actually nude...

Price: 25,79 ($6,53)

So that is all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed. I have a few reviews coming up and I'm thinking of doing a favourites of the month blog post... What do you think? And have you tried any of the products mentioned? What do you think of them? Do you like them? Do you not? Tell me everything! :) xoxo

Sending my love,

Review #1: New Look Pure Colour Nail Polish

10:23:00 AM

After a long break, finally I found some time to write a new blog post. Today I want to talk about a nail polish that, spoiler alert, I really love. It's the Pure Colour Nail Polish from New Look. So, if you're interested, just keep reading ;).

The shade I have is called 15 Biscuit. It's a very light, beigey grey colour, but in some lighting it looks almost white. I picked it up last summer in the New Look store, but I wasn't using it too often. Maybe because I originally wanted a white polish and even though I deliberately chose this one, I was a little disappointed. I started using it again this month and I painted my nails with it three times in a row, which never happens!

It has a big, wide brush, which allows you to apply polish in almost just one swipe. This saves a lot of time, and I love these kinds of brushes. What is more, it's really creamy, pigmented and not streaky at all. You could almost get away with just one layer.

One layer of polish

What I love the most about this nail polish is it's staying power. I love it when I can paint my nails and not worry about them any more for a week, and that's the case with this one! Of course, I used a base and top coat, as I usually do (I use 8in1 Total Action Intensive Nail Conditioner from Eveline as my base coat and In A Snap Quick-Dry Topcoat from Orly), but I didn't see any chipping until day 8 of having it on my nails. That, the pigmentation, the wide colour range and the price is the reason I totally recommend it!

Day 1
I give: ●●●
Price: 14 zł (3,53$)

Day 7
That is all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed and see you in my next post!  xoxo

Fashion Haul #1: Sinsay

10:54:00 AM

Hi guys! A while ago I did some fashion shopping at Sinsay. I have just discovered this store and was really overwhelmed with lots of stuff that was totally my style and really affordable too! I don't like spending a lot of money on my clothes, especially as I feel I have everything that I need already, and if I'm going to buy something new, it has to at least be affordable. I also don't think I'm in that place in my life yet, where I would buy clothes and expect them to last me a lifetime. My style is still changing and I like trying different clothes every season. Also, I get bored with my old clothes sometimes, and I don't want to be tossing something that is amazing quality and cost me an arm and a leg. So, with that being said, I would like to show you what I bought. Maybe it will inspire you to get some of this stuff for yourself too, or, I don't know, go shopping or something? Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

Let's start with the glasses. My old ones were so scratched I desperately needed new ones, and actually the black sunnies were the reason why I went to Sinsay in the first place. I saw Kosmetyczna-hedonistka wear them and decided I need them in my life as well. My boyfriend says they are "hipster", for me, they for some reason remind me of Audrey Hepburn. You can find a picture of my wearing them on my Instagram here.

Because I was not sure if I would feel confident in those more extravagant sunnies, I decided to buy the nude ones as well. Now I can tell I feel good in both of them, love both of them and I'm happy I have them. I can't find the information at the moment, but I'm pretty sure they both have UV 400 protection.

14,99 zł (3,82$) for black sunglasses
9,99 zł (2,54$) for nude ones

I got two more basic tops. The one on the left is something I would wear under sweaters when it's a little cold, or under cardigans... Or just by itself when it's warmer outside. Same goes for the grey one. I also feel in love with the way it looks paired with skirts when I was trying stuff out in the store. I never know what to pair with my skirts and because of that I never wear them (plus I'm always cold), and I hope this top will solve the problem. I also feel like you can never have too many basic tops, am I right?

12,99 zł (3,31$) for the black one
9,99 zł (2,54$) for the grey one

I couldn't resist buying these. And the reason is, first of all, I looove animal prints. I also love black and white on my clothes. Second of all, I can speak a little Japanese and this is my favourite sign. The last reason, but most certainly not least, is they just look good. My favourite type of T-shirts are those fitted, but slightly loose in the stomach area, so that I don't have to worry about eating too much while wearing them ;).

12,99 zł (3,31$) for the tigers
19,99 zł (5,10$) for the dream one

And the last and most expensive thing I bought is this dress. I don't regret it thought, it fits me perfectly and it's my favourite style, where it's not too long, it's flowy at the bottom, more tight in the waist line and doesn't show too much of the cleavage. I also, obviously, love the print - it's black and white :).

Price: 59,99 zł (15,30$)

So that is all I have for today! I'm really sorry for the delay, I try to post two times a week, on Wednesday and Saturday, but I won't always be able to do that, just like I wasn't able to yesterday. I'm in the middle of the exam season right now and it's sometimes really hard to find time for anything else than studying. Especially as I'm going away to a wedding this weekend. Anyways, thank you for your patience and thank you for reading! xoxo

EMPTIES #1: Too Faced, Nivea, Lirene

8:04:00 AM

Hey guys! Empties is a new series I would like to start. What I would like to do, is anytime I finish some make up/skincare products (about 3 maybe), I would make a blog post about it, sharing my thoughts on them and if I would repurchase. I'm not gonna lie, it is inspired by what beauty gurus on YouTube do, but I love these kinds of videos. I feel like once you've gone thought a whole bottle of whatever it is that you're talking about, you can really tell if you liked it, how you liked using it and if you think it's worth buying. And personally I really love reading reviews before I buy something. So I very much hope someone will like my posts of this kind.

Too Faced "Better Than Sex" Mascara

So a while ago (I think it was the Christmas sale season) I got a little cute set from Too Faced. It contained a mini Better Than Sex mascara and a mini Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. I am still using the bronzer, as even though it's a mini size, it contains quite a lot of product and I don't think I will be running out of it any time soon. But I have finished the mascara and I would like to share my thoughts on it.

Let's start on a positive note: I can honestly say I loved the way it made my lashes look. They were big, long and voluminous. They for sure were longer than after using some of my other mascaras. And I really enjoyed this look, especially as I pretty much never wear false lashes and like big lashes nonetheless. What I didn't like is the fact that after a few hours I was finding little mascara crumbs all over my under eye area, and a few times it even got into my eye. I don't know if I got a bad one or it dried out super fast, or maybe it just does that...? It was really annoying, and because it is a really pricey mascara, I would expect it to be better that my drugstore ones and not to that. For that reason I was not totally happy with it and I am not in love. Maybe the waterproof version they just came out with is not as flaky, but I hear the formula is a little different and not everyone is happy with it.

I give: ●●●

Would I purchase the full size? No, not really. Maybe I would if it was, again, in a set of some kind. I don't really want to spend this much money on a mascara, especially as there are many good ones at the drugstore that I would like to try. So I would not repurchase because of the price.

Price of the set with a mini Chocolate Soleil bronzer: 49 zł (12,61$)
Price of the full size at Sephora: 97 zł (24,97$)

Nivea Moisturizing Eye Cream with grape seed oil

As you can see, everything on my tube is written in Polish, so I'm really sorry, if I translated the name of the cream wrong. It is an anti-wrinkle, moisturizing eye cream for all skin types with grape seed oil. I am really sad I have run out of it, because I really liked it. It had no scent, was really light and moisturizing. Maybe it was not amazing and didn't change my life, but it worked just fine and I liked using it.

I give: ●●●

Would I repurchase? Not now, because I like trying new stuff, but I will remember it as something nice and it is possible that someday I will buy it again.

Price: 23,49 zł for 15 ml (6,05$)

Lirene Moisturizing hand cream for dehydrated skin

This is probably one of my favourite hand creams I have tried. It was really moisturizing (and I have super dry hands), sank in fast and smelled amazing. I really enjoyed its fresh, a little citrusy scent and, together with great moisturizing properties, it was a fabulous hand cream. I was so sad when I run out of it :( As a bonus, it is so affordable!

Lirene is a Polish brand. It belongs to Dr Irena Eris and you can find it in other European countries as well.

I give: ●●●

Would I repurchase? Of course I will buy something else now just because I love trying new stuff, but yes, I would 100% repurchase. I already miss it in my life.

Price: about 5 zł for 75 ml (1,28$)

So that is all for todays post. I really hope you enjoyed and maybe decided that you needed in your life something that I mentioned (I really recommend the hand cream), or that you don't. Or maybe you tried some of these products and disagree with me. I would love to read any comments! What is your favourite hand cream? I really need a new one now ;) xoxo

Make up

11:33:00 AM

Because I have a lot of stuff coming up (as a student - exam season is almost here), and I don't want to skip on my blog because of that, I decided to post something shorter today. I do have some more interesting posts coming up thought, so stay tuned. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this as well!

What it is going to be is... my make up of the day, a.k.a. MOTD. It's a popular tag on Instagram and other social medias (OOTD is more popular I think - outfit of the day). I'm also guilty of posting my #motd's on my Instagram profile from time to time. And today I'm also sharing one on my blog!

Keep in mind, it's not my must have's that I use every single day and can't live without. Some of these products are my oldies but goodies, some I'm still testing out and searching for a way to use it in my daily routine. If you want to hear more of my thoughts on any of these products, be sure to write it in a comment section below, and I'll either answer in a comment or make a post about it.

I forgot to include my lip color on the first picture, so here I am holding it up next to my lips ;)

List of all the products used:

Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in 010 Light Porcelain
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 10 Light

First make up haul - Sephora & Rossmann (drugstore) PART 4: FACE + LIPS

3:12:00 PM

So it's time for the last (but not least) part of my Sephora and Rossmann haul! Finally, huh? I know not many people have been reading my posts (yet?), but if you did, I really hope you like it as much as I enjoy writing these blog posts. Without any further due, let's get into my face and lip purchases!

As most girls, probably, I'm obsessed with lip products. I rarely wear nothing on my lips and like to change the colour I'm wearing pretty much every day. What is more, I still haven't found my "perfect" lip colour, that would make me go "This is it!" and wear it for the rest of my life. I'm not sure if it will ever happen, but I like to think that I'm in search of this perfect product/colour. And with that in mind, I expanded my collection a bit with these two babies.

Sephora Cream Lip Stains

I already own one of these, in the shade 13 Marvelous Mauve, so I knew I was going to like them. They stay in place all day without budging and are transfer proof (as long as you don't eat anything oily or wet your lips too much), they also are quite easy to apply, very pigmented and the colour is true to what you see through the packaging.

The two shades I picked up are 05 Infinite Rose (the bottom one) and 06 Pink Souffle (the top one). 06 Pink Souffle is actually what I have on my lips in the first photo.

I have worn them on my lips only once yet, but I really enjoyed it. Both colors are really pretty and good for spring and summer, and, basically, everyday. Especially the lighter color (05 Infinite Rose). In the packaging it seems a little metallic and that threw me off a little at first, but I decided to give it a go and I have to say, it looks really nice and natural on the lips. I love those kinds of colors for everyday and I'm pretty sure I'll get quite a lot of use out of it, as it will go well with a lot of both everyday and more glam make up looks. 06 Pink Souffle is a really pretty cool toned pink, it almost seems a little purple, I would say. When I first swatched it next to 13 Marvelous Mauve, I was afraid they are too similar and that I basically have two identical shades now. Luckily, as soon as it dries, 13 is darker and more browny, and 06 is lighter and much more bright. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself ;). Unfortunatelly I don't have 13 on hand now and can't give you swatches to compare.

Regular price: 45 zł (11,57$) for one
I bought it for: 27 zł (6,94$)

Cashmere Secret Smoothing Base

So I bought this because my good friend (best, actually) used it, loved it, and even said it's better than the famous Smashbox primer. I wouldn't know, because I haven't tried the Smashbox one, but so far it made a good first impression on me. I only used it on my face once, but it did make it incredibly smooth and felt really nice. Also, a little goes a long way, and I feel you're getting quite a lot in this bottle (30 ml/1 fl.oz).

Cashmere is a Polish brand, but I believe you can get it on Amazon and Ebay.

Regular price: 33,99 zł (8,74$)
I bought it for: 17,33 zł (4,45$)

Sephora Collection Teint Infusion

I tried it on my hand in the store and fell in love with it immediately. It felt so light weight, but covered well and moisturized! I didn't want to but it at first, because I didn't really hear anything about it and I was intending to buy something else for my foundation this time, but, well, life happened. I came back to Sephora and bought it anyway, in the shade 10 Ivory. At least I got a 40% discount!

I have only tried it once on my face yet and, unfortunately, I didn't like it at all. It seemed really cakey and was very visible on my face. But I am not going to give up that easily. Maybe I applied too much? Or maybe I should not apply it with a sponge, as it gives more coverage that way? I don't know, but I am going to give it a few more tries before I decide whether I like it or not. I'll keep you posted!

Regular price: 75 zł (19,29$)
I bought it for: 45 zł (11,57$)

L'oreal Paris Infallible 24-h Matte Foundation

This is the foundation that I wanted to buy in the first place. I was thinking about it for a long time now and finally decided I need it in my life. And I wasn't wrong! This is my baby now, I love it so much.

I have it in the shade 11 Vanilla, which is probably the lightest one. It is still slightly too dark for me (yes, that's how pale I am), but with a tiny bit of self tanner and bronzer I can make it work. And it's definitely worth the effort. I have never tried a foundation I would love this much. As soon as I apply it, it seems to disappear, you can't tell I'm wearing any foundation. At the same time, it smoothes out and covers any imperfection and makes my skin look fabulous. As if this was not enough, it stays all day without moving and doesn't make me shiny! Yes, I have only tried it a few times, but I'm just so in love! Well done, L'oreal!

Regular price: 59.99 zł (15,42$)
I bought it for: 30,59 zł (7,86$)

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer

I have it in the shade 02 Beige, which is a little too dark for me to use it all over the face, but it's perfect for concealing my dark under eye circles. It even reminds me a little of my Maybelline Fit me concealer, that I am using for that purpose at the moment. I have to use a light, highlighting concealer afterwards to balance everything out though (I use it on all hight points of my face).

I have only tried it once, so I can't really say much about it. It seems really nice though. It's thick, but moisturizing and has a nice coverege. I will keep you posted as soon as I have an opinion ;).

Regular price: 50,49 (12,98$)
I bought it for: 25,75 (6,62$)

So that is all when it comes to my huge make up haul. You will find links to all parts below. I really hope you enjoyed it and thank you so much for reading! Please let me know if you like it in the comments section below, as well as tell me what you want to see next. I have quite a lot of ideas of my own, but of course I will take yours into consideration. See you in the next post! xoxo

First make up haul - Sephora & Rossmann (drugstore) PART 3: EYE PRODUCTS + BRUSHES

9:04:00 AM

Time for part 3 of my huge haul! This time - eye products.

As I already mentioned before - I have just run out of my eyeliner from Make Up For Ever. I still have an eyeliner from Essense, but I realized I don't really like pen liners and decided to take advantage of the sales and pick up some more to try.

From top to bottom...

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner

The only black liquid liner I picked up. I haven't tried it on my eyes yet, but on my hand it seemed to be really pigmented and black (which is what I was looking for), just like the name suggests - the shade is called Blackest Black. It has a small felt tip that dips into the products inside of the "bottle", which is why it reminds me of the Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner that I had before.

Lovely Eye Liner Matte

This one I have tried on my eyes, once. It has a brush applicator. The product itself is a little watery, which is why it doesn't apply evenly on the first try, but after I applied another "coat" it did seem even. It also really is matte and the colour is really vibrant. I will continue trying it and maybe update you later :). Oh, and the colour doesn't have a name, but it's navy blue.

Eveline Cosmetics Celebrities Eyeliner

Eveline is a Polish brand, but you can buy their products in many different countries all over the world, USA included.

I have tried this liner a few times now. Maybe not enough to know if I love it, but it made a good first impression. It's easy to apply (has a really small, slim brush applicator - I love those!), very pigmented and stayed nice all throughout the day. The colour I picked up is supposed to be brown, but when it dries, it looks more black than some black eyeliners I have tried. This disappointed me a little, because I really wanted to try a brown liner on my eyes, but well, now I have a good black liner (at least I hope it's good), so I guess it's not that bad.

Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick

This one disappointed me the most out of all the liners I bought. I thought I would use it in my waterline, and I did once, but it didn't impress me. I don't think it was visible enough. I am going to give it another try, maybe it will be fine for a really natural look (I'm used to using a straight up white liner). I have also tried it on my eyelid (as it claims to be an eyeshadow stick), but it was a little patchy and even after covering it with a similar eyeshadow, I was not too happy. I'm going to try it again and again and maybe find a way to like it, and I will update you as soon as I do! The shade is 002 Bulletproof Beige.

I have also bought two make up brushes, on the sale in Sephora. These are Sephora Collection brushes - 73 Crease Shadow and 60 Must-Have Powder Shawdow. I really wanted to try Sephoras brushes, as I have heard some good things about them (not these in particular though), I was also looking out for that kind of a crease brush for a long time now. I really believe good brushes are a super important tool to have, so I like investing and trying out some new ones from time to time. I have to say, my favourite brushes I have ever tried are Ecotools brushes - they are not expensive and very good quality. These I have only tried once and don't really know what I think about them yet.

So this is all I have for today. The last part of the haul - face and lips - is coming soon, so stay tuned! Also, all the other parts of the haul are listed below. Thank you so much for reading and see you in my next post! xoxo

First make up haul - Sephora & Rossmann (drugstore) PART 2: BLUSHES

7:04:00 PM

Today's blog post will be a part 2 of my huge make up haul. Let's begin!

I'm not gonna lie, I have bought quite a few blushes... And I'm happy with most of them. I got to try some new shades I didn't have before and they were not too expensive. So it's a win-win, right?

Miss Sporty Insta Glow blushers

I only tried shade 003 Flushed Pink on my face, and I loved it. It seems to leave a little bit of a stain effect, and thanks to that the colour stays visible on the face for a longer period of time. What is more, all of the blushes are super soft to the touch (they break a little because of that, as you can see on the 001 Luminous Beige shade), nicely pigmented and blend easily. I didn't have a problem with any patchiness or uneven blending.

Miss Sporty is an UK brand and I assume it can be found in many different European countries. It belongs to Coty, along with many other brands (like Rimmel, Astor, Bourjois, Chloe, Sally Hansen and many others), at least that's what I found on their site - of course I can be wrong :).

Lovely Natural Beauty blusher

I believe it's shade 4, but I can be wrong, because I don't have it on hand right now. I have tried and liked this. It's similar in shade to Miss Sporty's 001 Luminous Beige, just a little darker. It is also said to be mineral and good for your skin - which is always good.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush

The shade I have is 020 Pink Rose, which I absolutely don't understad why is it called this way, because in my opinion is neither pink nor rosy. I would say it's peachy, or beigy.

Nonetheless, I really like it. It's the most "pricey" blush I've bought (even though of course it's not expensive by any means) and I can really tell the difference, at least in the packaging. I also love the British flag engraving and, what is most important to me (apart from the product itself) - how small it is! Thanks to that it's great for travel and it's the one blush I took with me now, going to visit my family in Vilnius.

The blush itself is really soft and quite pigmented, but it's not a bad thing. It blends really well, so it's easy to work with and you can get a natural effect, great for every day. I really love it and I'm glad I picked it up. If I could, I would probably buy more of these.

So these are all of the blushes I've bought. Yes, it's a lot for one person, especially considering I already have 3 more in my collection. Let's just say I went on a little blush craze while shopping ;)

The rest of the haul is coming soon! I will link all the other parts below as soon as they're up.
