Mini hiatus

7:11:00 PM

Hey guys!

I am finally finishing the exam season in about two days, but immediately after that, I'm going for a trip that I mentioned in my last post. Unfortunately I had no time to pre-write any blog posts for you, so I'm announcing a mini hiatus. It really hurts me, as I've had a lot of ideas for this month, but, well, we just have to deal with that. I hope you forgive me and continue to read my blog after that :). Also, if you want to keep up with me, follow me on my Instagram, where I might be posting pictures from my trip. I should be back around July 14th.

For now, have a great month! xoxo

Mini haul: getting ready for the summer!

9:42:00 AM

Hello everyone!

After my exam season is finally finished, I'm going for a trip with my boyfriend. We're going to climb some mountains and maybe catch a little bit of sunshine on a beach near the sea. With that in mind, I did some shopping, to prepare for the trip. And today I want to share my mini haul with you!

It even looks summery just lying on the floor like that, doesn't it? Unfortunately I'm still on a no-buy, especially now, because I will be needing money for the trip. So I only bought things that I really needed, and, well, there were some. Let's start with some fashion bits I picked up!

Fashion

First of all, I needed a hat. I have been thinking about buying one of those beautiful huge hats I've been seeing all over social media. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a perfect one for me, and, to be honest, I was a little afraid I would look ridiculous in it. This one caught my eye despite being a little smaller - I really like it. It's tiny bit too big, but thanks to that it fits on my head even when I have a pony tail, and I figured it wouldn't squeeze my hair too bad and make it stick to my head. Also, because it's a straw hat, it really screams summer to me.

Price: 45,90 pln ($11,91) in Stradivarius

This is probably my favourite thing in this haul. I really needed some shorts, I've left all of mine at home, in Vilnius. And I love shorts - you're not too hot, you get to show off some legs and you don't have to worry about showing your panties too, like when wearing a skirt ;). These are super soft and very comfortable - I'm so in love! They are high waited, which I'm so happy about, and they're not too short (no butt falling out). Plus they're just beautiful and will go with pretty much anything.

Price: 49,90 pln ($12,95) in Bershka

Skincare (?)

It's a Ziaja Sopot Sun cream with SPF 50+. I'm not looking for any more wrinkles or freckles, so I'll be needing that high protection! It also claims to have vitamin C in it, has a weird light yellow color and smells kinda like a Nivea cream - and I like it. What is more, it's pretty small and thin, so it won't take too much space.

Price: 14,99 pln ($3,89) in Rossmann

I burn pretty easily, so same goes for my body - I'll be needing that! It's an SPF 30 cream by the brand Sun Ozon. Unfortunately, I can't understand anything that is written on the packaging, but I see 24 hours, 30 and UVA + UVB and that's good enough for me.

Price: 8,99 pln ($2,32) in Rossmann

As I don't have any body moisturizer and my face cream is pretty huge, I was looking for something I would be able to moisturize everything with. And I've found it. I haven't tried it yet (obviously), but it claims to be suitable for your body, face and hair. It's a Precious Peach Oil by Bielenda. Reading the ingredients I've also found many other olis apart from peach oil, like soybean oil, marakuja oil or palm oil. I have no idea if they are good for you, but I decided to go for it. It smells like peaches and seems to sink in pretty quickly.

Price: 16,79 pln ($4,34) in Rossmann

I have run out of my micellar water by Bioderma some time ago (coming soon in empties post) and I really love using those to refresh my skin in the morning and to remove my make up in the evenings. And especially as I don't want to take my whole bathroom with me for the trip, I decided to pick it up and use it as my morning and night face cleaner. It's an Moisturizing Micellar Liquid for Cleansing and Make Up Removing 3in1 Plasma Repair Complex by Bielenda.

Price: 9,49 pln ($2,45)

Make up

I've only picked up one make up item and it's this True Match concealer by L'oreal. I really wanted to try it, as it's said to be amazing, and this was a perfect occasion. I'm not going to take any foundation on my trip and will only stick to concealer for my skin - I don't think I would be willing to spend almost an hour doing make up in the mornings. Mine is in the shade 2 Vanilla and it's a pretty good match.

Price: 23,99 pln ($6,21)

So that is all I have bought! It's not much, but I hope you enjoyed reading anyways. If you want to see any photos from my trip, make sure you're following me on Instagram, as this is where I'll be posting those. This is also where you can see me wearing some of the clothing items and make up I'm talking about here. Also, please tell me what you think! What else do you want to read about? I'm not running out of ideas, but it would be nice to know I'm doing something that you want to see :). Anyways, thank you so much for reading and have a great day! See you in my next post! xoxo

Mission: Finishing make up!

12:36:00 AM

Hello everyone! How are you doing?

Maybe you know that already, but I'm not one of those bloggers that have a whole separate room just for their make up. I don't have a lot. Nonetheless, I think I have more than enough for one person. I get lots of satisfaction from finishing a product and being able to grab another one from my collection and add it to my "everyday make up" set. And today I'm going to talk about the stuff that I'm nearly done with - how I feel about it, maybe what do I think about the product itself. Just the usual.

I like to motivate myself to finish up stuff that I'm almost done with, especially as every time I get to the point when I, for example, hit the pan, I find myself stop using it. I get so scared I will run out of the product... that I just don't use it anymore! And what's the point?

Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner

What can I say, it's a primer. I have been using it for quite a long time and it's almost gone - it might appear in my next empties post. If you like silikone based primes, I think you would like it. It also reminds me of THIS primer from L'oreal, and it's really affordable. I might say something more about it when it gets to the empties post (as it will probably empty be soon), now I'm just looking forward to finishing it and using my Nivea Men Post Shave Balm as a primer or Cashmere Secret Smoothing Base.

Holika Holika Clearing Petit BB

It's something I got as a present from my best friend Ema (love you ❤) last spring. It's a Korean product and I have no idea how to get it other than order it online. I have been loving it all last summer, but, unfortunately, had to stop using it as autumn came and I got paler. It is still too dark for me, and that's the main reason I haven't finished it yet, because I love everything about it - the consistency, the scent, the coverage, the fact that it's moisturizing and clearing (good for acne prone skin) at the same time. I sometimes try to use it mixing it with my lighter foundations or just contour with it, but it's too much work for everyday. So I will probably just wait until I get dark enough or self tan and then finish it up - it's also almost gone.

Maybelline Fit me concealer

You can't buy it in drugstores in Poland, I believe, so I bought mine in Lithuania, when I was visiting my family. I was dying to try it, because of all the hype around it, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. Not because it's a bad concealer - the coverage and the consistency are great. But... I can't use it all over my face, because it's too dark for me! And I have the shade 10, which I believe is the lightest one. Because it's super yellow, I use it on my dark circles and it works great for that, but that means I'm just using a little at a time. It is great, because it last me a super long time, but I also got a little bored... I want to move on and use my new Borjouis Radiance Reveal concealer.

Ingrid Ideal Skin Concealer

It seems like I have bought it just last month, but, obviously, it's been a while. Only because I smear it pretty much all over my face, I'm going to finish it up much quicker than the Maybelline one. I use it as my highlighting concealer. I have it in the shade 10, and it's not the lightest one, but it is pretty light (it does oxidize though). It neutralizes the dark yellowness under my eyes after correcting my dark circles. I also use it everyday and I like it - it was affordable, it's really light and it claims to contain some vitamins and be good for your skin. I'm all for that.

Catrice Allround Concealer Palette

I have been eyeing this for a while before I bought it, just because I wasn't sure if I would use all of the colors, and I wanted it mainly for the salmon color for under my eyes. But it was not expensive, so finally I picked it up. And I loved the hell out of this palette for a few months. You can really see I was using all of the colors.

Around the time I was using this palette, color correcting trend was really growing and I was so glad I had this. I used green for the redness around my nose or any pimples, salmony color was great for under my eyes, I used the middle concealer shade for covering any imperfections and the other two for cream contouring.

Now I'm no longer interested in color correcting nor cream contouring and barely ever grab this palette. It's a shame, because it's really great, but I just seem to forget about it even when I put it in front of me before doing my make up. I will try to use it up, of course, but I have no idea how long will it take me. Even though I hit pat on all of the shades, there's still quite a lot left.

Lovely Silver Highlight

This is my first highlighter I ever bought, so it's very sentimental for me. I have bought it almost a year ago when I was waiting in Warsaw for my bus to Vilnius. And I rocked it all year around. I don't think there was a single day when I would wear make up and not wear this. I loved it. I still do, but there's just not enough left to pick up with my highlighting brush.

Right now I moved on to other highlighting products and I use this as an eyeshadow in my everyday make up. It looks great, but I really think it's time for it to go (I have tons of eyeshadows, I don't need another one). So I will probably be really happy when I finally finish it up completely.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush

We are getting a little sentimental in here - this is my first blush ever. I have bought it 4 years ago. It's in the shade 41 Healthy Mix/Bonne Mine and it's a baked blush. It was round and convex once, now it's almost completely flat. Obviously, it was not the only blush I would use during all those years, I have bought myself some more to try other colors, but I don't think I would be able to finish it up even if it was.

It's a beautiful, soft coral, it smells nice, applies nice and it's really hard to overdo. I think it's a great blush for beginners and I'm glad I started with this one. I am currently using it as my everyday blush, so let's see how long will it take me to finish it up!

Avon Single Eyeshadow

If you know Avon, you can already tell it's super old, as it's not even in the right packaging. Now their packaging is black and... just different, I don't know. This eyeshadow belonged to my mom, I basically just stole it from her. Or maybe she gave it to me, I don't really remember. I know I started using it in the summer two years ago.

I have no idea if using an eyeshadow this old is bad for you, but I don't think it is. I'm okay :). And I only use it to set my eyeshadow primer, to create a smooth canvas for my actual eyeshadows. It has some coverage and I wouldn't say it's bad, even though it's really powdery. I like it. The shade is called Classic Canvas and it's literally the color of my skin. This is why I'm not showing any swatches - you wouldn't be able to see anything.

Catrice Eyebrow Stylist

So far, this is my favourite eyebrow pencil I have ever tried. I feel like it really goes well with my hair color, it's also easy to use, you just have to sharpen it from time to time. Originally, it was twice as long, but I have been using it for more than a year now (I think), so it was a looong time... Anyways, it is still going strong and not going bad at all! Also, I love that it has a spoolie.

The shade I have is called 020 Date With Ash-Ton, and I think it's great for ashy blondes like myself. It is also very affordable, like all Catrice products.

Avon Naturals Essential Balm

I use lip balms every day at least twice (in the morning before applying lipstick and before going to bed), and for the last 4 years I was using this. Yes, you read that correct. Four years. It's amazing. I never had any balm moisturize my lips that well, and it also smells amazing! The one I have is in the Peach & Cotton scent.

Can you see how small it is? But this little baby jar was full of the balm (it's technically not a lip balm, you can use it wherever you like). It's almost gone now and I have to say - it will feel good to eventually scoop out the last bit and welcome a new lip balm in my life.

Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick

Mine is in the shade, as you can see, 715 Choco Cream. It's a great lipstick, but I have a love-hate relationship with this shade. It is the first nude I have ever bought and I think it's too light for me to feel comfortable wearing it. There was a time when I was wearing it with some pink gloss from Essence and I really loved it then - this is when I used up most of it. Now I don't have the gloss and there's barely any lipstick left, which makes me don't wanna use it, for whatever reason. Plus I prefer brighter colors for spring and summer.

Like... What do you even do with this little lipstick? Am I supposed to throw it away already? I don't want to, there is still some product left! So I am using it from time to time, not that often lately, because, as I have already said, I prefer brighter colors for spring and summer. And generally I think I just prefer my lipsticks to be either my lip color or darker.

Of course, I will find a way to like it eventually and I will use it up completely, because I wouldn't be myself if I didn't. So wish me luck. And - it looks pretty on my hand, right? It's just that my lips are pretty pigmented and that makes it, in my opinion, look weird, sometimes. I don't know. Like I said, I have a love-hate relationship with it. Anyways, the formula is great, smooth and comfortable plus I absolutely love the scent.

I feel like my posts are getting longer lately, and I am not sure if that's good? I guess I have a lot to talk about, but... do you like it? Is anyone reading the whole thing? Maybe I should split it to parts? Although I feel that would be really weird. Please let me know what you think! And see you in my next post! xoxo

Review #2: Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 eyeshadow palette

9:38:00 AM

Hello again!

I've received some comments on my previous post and you can't even imagine how happy I was. Please, if you're reading this, leave me a comment ;). Even if it's just a smiley face, or an emoticon of any kind, please do! It would make me so happy ❤.

Today I'm going to talk about an eyeshadow palette I have recently purchased. It is by Makeup Revolution and it's called Redemption Palette Iconic 3. It is said to be a dupe for the famous Naked 3 by Urban Dacay and it is the main reason why I decided to buy it.

What do I think of it?

First of all, it's absolutely beautiful. I though the same thing about the Naked 3 and it actually drew me to it. The pans in this one are larger than in the original, and they are longer, but it contains less products - MUR palette is 14g and UD says 12 x 1,3, which is 15,6g. I don't think it makes a big difference thought or that it matters. It's really unlikely to use up 100% of a palette anyways.

What else can I say? The packaging is plastic, but it's really pretty and feels sturdy. It also comes with a typical sponge applicator, but I'm not going to use it, so I removed it from my palette.

How are the shadows?

As you can probably tell just by looking at the swatches, I will not be complaining about the pigmentation - it's beautiful. I only had some hard time swatching the lightest, creamy white shade, but I only use these kind of colors to set my primer anyways, so I'm not mad at it at all. There are 4 matte shades - 1st (white), 4th and 7th (lighter and darker mauve) starting from the top. The rest is either shimmery or has a slight sheen.

If you're on the market for some pink, rosy eyeshadows, I think this palette is great for you. It performs beautifully on the eye, lasts me all day and is super affordable. Also, if you want to see any looks using this palette, just tell me.

How does it compare to my other eyeshadows?

Top to bottom: Gold from Lorac Pro palette, MUR eyeshadowHalf Baked from Naked 1 palette by Urban Decay, Creme Brulee from the Chocolate Bar palette by Too Faced
The one shadow that really stood out to me is the golden shade, so I decided to compare it with my other golds. As you can see, it's much more rosy than the rest, which is great - I have no other shadow like it.

Top to bottom: Champagne from the Lorac Pro palette, Champagne Truffle from my Chocolate Bar palette, MUR eyeshadowSin from my Naked palette and Marzipan from the Chocolate Bar
I'm really in love with the light pinky highlight shade from the palette, so I tried comparing it to some other eyeshadows that looked similar to me. Again, it's one of a kind. I feel like Champagne by Lorac is similar, but it's not as shiny.

Top to bottom: MUR eyeshadowMauve from my Lorac Pro palette
And here I'm comparing the darker matte mauve from the palette and Mauve by Lorac. Again, it's obviously more rosy, the Lorac shadow is much more neutral. I love that I can't find any dupes for this palette in my collection - this means I didn't waste my money on something that I've already had.

So would I recommend it?

Yes, absolutely. If you want to add these kind of shades to your collection, you want to try something new and not spend tons of money, I say go for it. It's a beautiful palette, it's good quality and you're not going to break the bank buying it.

Price: 19,90 pln ($5,21)

I give: ●●●

I really hope you enjoyed this review and maybe found it helpful. There may or may not be more reviews coming soon ;). Once again, if you're reading this, please leave me a comment, that would make my day! You don't even have to write anything, just copy and paste this: ❤. Anyways, have a great day, see you in my next post!

My everyday make up

7:14:00 PM

Hi guys!

Today I decided to share with you my go-to everyday make up look. This is something that I choose to wear when I have to wake up at 6 in the morning, I can barely see because I'm so sleepy and I really don't wanna think about it. So I have created my own make up routine - I have all the products I need in a separate basket, so that I don't have to go through my entire collection every single time. Who would want to do that at 6 in the morning?! Not me. Of course, I do change things up from time to time, but this is the general idea and what I have been doing for the past month.

Oh, and yes - this means you get to see my bare face for the first time. Not entirely make up-less though, I just don't have my eyes done ;).

List of everything I wore on my face:

  • Catrice Prime and Fine Smooth Refiner
  • Sephora Collection Teint Infusion foundation in 12 Ecru
  • Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 10
  • Ingrid Ideal Skin concealer in 10
  • Catrice Allround concealer palette
  • Bourjois Healthy Balance powder in 52 Vanilla
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer in Medium/Dark
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 020 Pink Rose
  • Lovely highlighter in Gold
  • Catrice Brow Stylist pencil in 020 Date with Ash-Ton
  • L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Light/Medium
  • Avon Eyeshadow Base in Light Beige
  • Avon eyeshadow in Classic Canvas

So this is me with no eye make up on. Please don't make fun of me :). I wanted to show you the "before", so you can see what difference it makes when we're done.

The first part is mostly eye contouring. This is basically creating shadows and making the eyelid more 3D.

1. I'm adding a medium brown all over my crease. This deepens the crease (even though I have a defined crease, I still like to do this and think it looks better this way) and is going to be a transition shade for the darker brown I add later - it will make it look more blended. I'm also applying the same shadow on my lower lashline.

2. I'm applying dark brown into the crease, where I want it to look deeper and more defined. I'm also adding this in the outer part of my lower lashline. As a finishing touch, I added a shimmery bronze shadow in the outer third of my lid, but it's not a necessary step, I rarely do this. It doesn't even look that shimmery on my lid as it does on the swatch.

3. Now I'm just applying my lid shade all over my eyelid. I'm using Lovely highlighter in Silver.

4. Now I'm adding eyeliners - brown liquid liner on my top lid and white eyeliner in my waterline. I'm also highlighting my inner corner with the same highlighter I used on my lid.

5. The last step is mascara! As you can see, makes a huge difference :).

These are the shadows I have been using lately. It's an Avon eyeshadow quad in the shade Mocha Latte. If you know how Avon packaging looks like now you might recognize it's the old version :). I'm also trying to use up my Lovely highlighter in Silver, so I'm using it as a lid color. I think it looks really pretty.

Here you can see my Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara in Noir/Black (love it!), my Sephora Collection Nano Eyeliner in 03 Pure White and Eveline Cosmetics Celebrities eyeliner in brown.

I also thought I would share some similar shadow options from popular make up palettes, so here we go:

Urban Decay Naked palette: Naked for the crease, Buck to darken it up and Sin/Virgin on the lid and to highlight the inner corner. Sin is one of my favorite shadows of all time!

Lorac Pro palette: Taupe in the crease, Espresso to darken it up and Nude/Champagne on the lid and to highlight the inner corner.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette: Milk Chocolate for the crease, Semi-Sweet to darken it up, Marzipan on the lid and Champagne Truffle to highlight the inner corner.

With a look that is so neutral, I feel like any lipstick would look great. This is one of the reasons I like it - I can choose whatever lipstick I want and even change it up during the day. But here are some lip options I chose, top to bottom:

  • Essence Long Lasting Lipstick Nude in 02 Porcelain Doll
  • L'oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire liquid lipstick in 600 Nude Vibrato
  • Catrice Ultimate Stay lipstick in 030 Wood You Love Me
  • Kiko Milano Smooth Temptation lipstick in 04 English Rose
  • NYX Butter Lipstick in Big Cherry
I have to say, I don't really like the Essence one. Not because of the formula, as I have the same lipstick in a different color and I absolutely love it, but because the color is too light. I don't know what I was thinking while buying it. I might use it to highlight the center of my lips, or maybe with a darker lip liner, but I certainly don't like it alone. I also have mixed feelings about the L'oreal one, as it's a super sticky gloss and it's a little annoying (but maybe it lasts longer because of that), and I don't really wear the red one from NYX, as I don't think it suits me and because it's a buttery formula, I'm always afraid it will smear all over my face and I wouldn't notice. But the other two are my ultimate favourites and I wear them all the time. Here you can see how I look wearing each and every one of them:

And... that is finally all for today. Let me know what you think about everything! How do you like the look? The swatches? Which lipstick looks the prettiest? How was your day? Are you a nude or a red lips girl?  Boy? I wanna know everything! xoxo
